This temple dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Mariamman feels more like it belongs in India than downtown Bangkok. Built during the 19th century by Tamil immigrants, it is of the main non-Buddhist places of worship in the capital, and houses numerous statues of Hindu gods and goddesses. Various festivals and ceremonies take place here throughout the year. Check the website before visiting as the temple closes early on certain ceremony days.
