Bangkok fashion's power couple now have a new flagship store and cafe in Gaysorn Village, and it's sure to churn up your envy.

Wannasiri Kongman and Jesse Dorsey are the designers behind Boyy and the darling duo of the Thai fashion scene (they’re also married). Boyy’s “Slash” and “Bobby” buckle bags, already successful locally, rocketed to worldwide fashion fame after making an appearance in the Street Styles of Fashion Weeks in Paris and New York.

The store’s classiness appears effortless (a familiar feeling for those in fashion circles), the result of clean lines and a modern aesthetic. Kongman and Dorsey opted for a Brazilian granite floor from an Italian stone supplier because, you know, marble is so overused in Bangkok. The unassuming beige of the American clay walls lend a warm and natural touch, which is livened up by a colorful painting by New York-based artist Les Rogers and by the bright, resin-made podium pieces from Rotterdam’s Sabine Marselis Studio.

Belt bags and boots from Boyy's latest collection start from about B20,000 and coin purses with eyelet from B6,900.

A door transports you from the showroom into Boyy and Son Cafe, where mid-century pastels meet with smooth terrazzo. The cafe is a mash of '70s Milanese decor and an American diner, the blue walls setting off the custom-pink La Marzocco machine. There’s also a round window onto colorful coral and sea creatures, marking a comeback for interior fish tanks.

Boyy and Son Cafe has a page full of drinks, from coffee and tea to alcohol. A hot cappucino sets you back B140 while an aromatic and tasty Rose Pendant iced tea, which comes in an artsy stone-textured glass, is B120. An Aperol Spritz is B400. For something to eat, try the daily-baked plain croissant (B75). Kasidit Srivilai
